Getting started with InsightBase

InsightBase is an operator-grade UK company intelligence platform. It ingests every UK company from Companies House, every day, and layers a per-workspace overlay on top: segments, notes, tags, enrichment, filings, watchlists, and outreach.

The three surfaces

InsightBase has three operating surfaces, and you'll be in one of them depending on your role and workspace type:

• /business — the day-to-day surface for a single business: search, segments, watchlists, outreach.
• /advisor — for advisors and operators who manage multiple client businesses. Includes a business switcher in the topbar so you can move between workspaces.
• /admin — platform-admin only. Health monitoring, ingestion timelines, manual recovery actions, workspace lifecycle.

Your role

Workspace roles, in increasing capability order:

1. Viewer — read-only.
2. Operator — can run searches and exports.
3. Analyst — can build segments and request enrichment.
4. Manager — can manage segments, watchlists, sequences.
5. Admin — workspace-level admin: invite members, manage features.
6. Owner — singular per workspace, non-removable, transfer-only.

Platform admin is a separate flag, independent of workspace role. It lets a small team of platform operators inspect any workspace for support without holding workspace credentials.

First five minutes

1. Open Intelligence Studio. Run a quick filter like incorporation date = last 7 days + company type = LTD. You should see roughly 10–25k companies — that's a normal week of UK incorporations.
2. Save the result as a Segment. Segments are living: when new companies match they appear automatically.
3. Add a few to your Watchlist. The watchlist gives those companies a higher refresh priority.
4. Open one company's Detail page to see the canonical data plus your workspace overlay (notes, tags, activity).

What to expect from the data

• Yesterday's incorporations are always present by 02:00 London time the next morning, verified set-equal against Companies House search.
• The bulk corpus (~5.7M companies) is refreshed monthly from the Companies House BasicCompanyData snapshot.
• Per-company profile freshness is on a priority-aware cadence: critical 6h, high 24h, normal 7d, low 30d.
